Jane Handcock is a very talented Hip-Hop artist who released an album earlier this year. “World of Women” totals 13 tracks, five of which have appearances from Snoop Dogg, which was a fun surprise for me to find out. There seems to be a variety of influences throughout this album, with tracks ranging from Soul and classic R&B to tracks that are heavier on Pop and even Caribbean influences. This variety keeps the album exciting and makes each track sound new.
Some honorable mentions include “That’s On Me,” which has Soul influences, and a feature from October London. The vocals on this track are beautiful, and the harmonies between Jane Handcock and October London work so well together. Also, “Layin Next to Me” is a slower R&B track on this album which features infectious rhythms and melodies. Even the simple interlude at the beginning comes across as a well-produced track; this whole album is really well done.
