Aasha Lewis-Redway is a New York City-based entrepreneur, entertainment journalist, media professional, and Founder of GENEUS R US. Originally from Rochester, New York, Aasha has built her career at the intersection of music, media, and marketing, with a passion for creating opportunities for emerging artists and the next generation of industry professionals.

Obtaining a dual Master’s degree in Media Management and Public Relations, Aasha brings both industry experience and a strong understanding of how artists, brands, and media connect. Aasha's professional background includes work with Verity Gospel, RCA Records, Victor Label Group, and RED Music under Sony Music Entertainment, with experience spanning in Marketing, Digital Production, A&R, Artist Development, and Promotions.

 

In her early years as an entertainment journalist and interviewer, Aasha has contributed to music platforms including the popular DJ Booth and MiixtapeChiick, in addition to building GENEUS R US as her very own music blog. Throughout her career, she has interviewed emerging and established talent including Deborah Cox, Kelly Price, Coco Jones, Xscape, Brownstone, Raheem DeVaughn, Ruff Endz, Kid Capri, Jim Jones, Vina Love, Felicia Temple, and more.

Aasha’s commitment to creating access extends beyond GENEUS R US. Aasha has served as a mentor with Black Girls In Media and remains engaged with professional communities including Women In Music, Mamas In Music, Music Managers Forum, and a new member of the Recording Academy. Whether she is behind the microphone, interviewing an artist, producing an event, mentoring emerging talent, or creating opportunities through GENEUS R US, Aasha’s work is rooted in one purpose: connecting people, amplifying voices, and helping creatives move through the music and media industries with greater knowledge, confidence, and community.
