Eben Parry, also known as EB3N, is a Canadian R&B singer whose genre-bending style makes him a unique artist, and his latest single “Uninvited” is a testament to that talent. The track is teeming with all the qualities intrinsic to R&B classics- namely, smooth vocals and a strong beat. However, EB3N’s buttery vocals on this track are accentuated by elements more commonly associated with Hip-hop and even electronic music. While the lyrics of “Uninvited” are melancholic and describe the singer’s broken trust in a partner, the song’s sanguine instrumental imbues the track with an addictive quality. EB3N pushes the envelope of what it means to be an R&B artist in today’s landscape and I am excited to see just what he has in store for us in the future.
