Wanda Gonzalex is a Nicaraguan artist raised in the Bay Area. She is an R&B singer who just released her first EP, “Bittersweet”. The project features six tracks, each with more positive energy than the last. The album opens with “Special Thing”, a sweet and smooth love song that truly displays Gonzalez’s vocal abilities. The track is followed by “Slide”, my personal favorite song of the project. “Slide” features a simple yet catchy instrumental that highlights the artist’s vocals. Speaking of vocals, Gonzalez sings about relatable topics such as love and regret in a way that connects with listeners. I’d also like to recommend “Sobrevivi”, the album’s only track with Spanish lyrics. Sobrevivi translates to “survive” in English and that sentiment of survival and perseverance is clear in the emotion of Gonzalez’s tone on the track.
